![]() ![]() If I can confirm that the document mode "Edge (default)" is only a cosmetic change from the "11" mode she's telling me we need, I'll pass that along to her. But once all patches and updates were reapplied I think we'd be back to the same scenario. Since we run Win8.1, we'd have to remove the IE 11 "feature", reboot the machine, then re-add the feature. The vendor rep suggested I'd have to uninstall and reinstall IE11 - she assumed that were on Win7 - to get the "11" document mode option back. We keep our machines fully patched in a timely manner. ![]() But we didn't have any issue until the last few weeks. I mean, is "Edge (default)" just "11" with a different name? Or does it actually operate differently? It almost looks at this point like IE11, fully patched, no longers allows things to run AS IE11 - you can only emulate other browsers with it which makes no sense and defeats the purpose of IE11 being what MS calls a "compatibility solution".Ĭan anyone shed light on this? The vendor said it ONLY works in IE 11 so any other mode will prevent proper operation. When troubleshooting a recent problem with it, they had me hit F12 to view the developer tools and confirm what document mode the browser was in (under emulation). We have a web app that the vendor still needs to be run in IE11. ![]()
